AZ Hip Mamas?
I am looking for anyone who might live in, or know about Phoenix. DH's company has an opening there that he wants to apply. So I need general info on the area. I was hoping to get some inside info. You know more then what you can see in pictures or learn on line.
I second that reqest (despite my lack of posting i have been reading) DH and I are hoping to move to phoenix in a year and would love some insider info.
DH was in grad school in Flagstaff but we'd go to Phoenix sometimes. I don't know much but you do need to be able to stand heat. I stopped to help a guy changing a tire one time on the Interstate and the problem he was having was that everytime he got the car on the jack, the jack would melt INTO the pavement. It was August in Phoenix but that's pretty damned hot.
That said, it's big but I'm a total desert rat and I think that a lot of the areas just outside of Phoenix are gorgeous. I've got friends who live in Scottsdale and they LOVE the area.
Remember that you are unique, just like everyone else.

I lurk here on the site, but if you would like some info I could try and help you guys out!

right downtown......it really depends where you are moving. its a ginormous spreading city with suburb city after suburb city. its really FUCKING HOT. i can't deal with it. the kids can't even play outside during the day in the summer. we haven't had rain in 115 days. its february, and 80 degrees....we didn't even really get a winter this year. sorry i'm bitching....
i think its generally safe, of course you have bad areas, as you would in any city. and the public schools are lacking, but you can always go with a montessori school.
i think i take it for granted since i've always been here.....the landscape is amazingly deserty-beautiful, there are great hikes and stuff like that. and its really close to san diego, if you need to get to the beach. thats a plus.
