From the techMama: Upgrade coming this weekend, things will look weird for a bit
Hey folks--
Lynn here, your hipMama techMama. I'm about to start the upgrade process for hipMama. This means things will be wonky for a bit, "a bit" being possibly through Saturday, though I'm expecting less turbulence than that. I will let you know when is a good time to start submitting bug reports (hint: not yet
).
Why this needs to happen: The software running hipMama (Drupal) has gone through several updates since this site went live and we're woefully behind. Bee wants to add several new features and she can't until I update the underlying software. Things will work pretty much the way they do now, but things won't look exactly the same.
Anyway, bear with me, and cross your collective fingers since I'm doing this with Mercury retrograde. All good thoughts appreciated.

(wow - my email on file was so old - it was from the old hipmama email!)
i go to create content and teh only option is a poll?

Might be too soon to ask, if you're still tweaking the site, but now when we go back into a thread to read (more) responses, how do we tell which comments are new?
Thank you, and sending those good thoughts your way.
Can we get back the "who's online" section? It would be nice to see....

it's not a bug, but a preference. I liked it when you could see who has posted comments on the 'recent posts' page. it just helped my feeble mind keep up with conversations
Search feature now? Thanks.

What is that all about?

a box around each blog (or lines, or lots of spaces) to delineate it from the other blogs? Right now it all sort of flows together.
Thanks, Lynn.

Please make it more obvious where one post ends and the next begins, and if it's possible to make the name of the person who posted more bold or visible (especially at the top of the post) that would make things a lot more easy to put into context/read/browse. Thanks so much for your hard work, the features are fantastic!
Time and room are yours.
the links are in bright blue on a blue-grey background. Hard to read. Once they've been clicked, they turn white, which is easy to read. Maybe that bright blue (of the links) could be changed to light grey or white, then a different color (light blue?) once it's been clicked on? Other than that and no delineation between the blogs, it's pretty easy to read everything.
I'd like to put in a vote for maybe a different header color, or some part of the text that isn't blue. It's just a lot of very similar shades of blue for the eye to deal with. Or will we have different theme options once the upgrade is over? - I'd switched my account to the grey, black and white one, which was much easier to read.
Thanks for all your hard work!

OK the basic upgrade is done. Now I get to start adding things in. Expect the look of the site to change a little once I get feedback from Bee et al. See, that wasn't SO bad, now, was it?
