Way to go! You are going to make an amazing teacher!! What ages are you thinking about teaching?
Sounds funny saying I used to be Z******A, when I still am. But there it is, call me sugarhiccup now.
yay!!!
i'm so happy for you!! will you begin teaching this fall? (and i'm here if you need any support/commiseration!) : )

Now I need a Job
Yes, I am able to start teaching in the fall, if I find a job. If not I will just sub until I find something. I am going to be teaching Spec Ed, so maybe that will help make the search easier.

if it helps
i didn't get offered my first teaching job until early-to-mid august. some districts dont' post openings until late, others have teachers that break contracts at the last minute (for which they have to pay 500-1000!) i subbed for a year before i went back for my teaching degree, and really loved it, fwiw. good luck on your search! (and once you do have a job secured, go for your masters soon... you go up the pay scale so much quicker and you may get additional licensures too!)

Wanderlust is in my head :)
That's funny because I was going to post and ask you and the other teacher mama's if you thought it was worth it to go back for the Master's right away. I want to go back in January, or the next fall, depending on what kind of position I get. I was wondering if it really made a difference. Several people(non teachers)have told me not to rush into it, but I am really eager to get it over with. It does help to know that the positions may not come through until the last minute, sometimes even the day school starts or the first few weeks afterward. The program I am going through told us the same today, and that we shouldn't worry, but you know me, I always do. Thanks for the advice, because it was right on time.

Thanks Mamas!
I can't believe I am actually going to be a real teacher! The test was really tough, and I was so stressed the day I took it with the stuff going on with my own kid, that I really was uncertain if I passed. I have been worried all week!

Go Freedamomma!
I am so proud of you! This is awesome news! You rock, mama!
BTW, how is that stuff going with your 6-year-old? Is he ok with what's happening? I just talked to a ten year old today that was held back in first grade, and he says he's glad it happened, because he didn't really "have the time to concentrate and get stuff done that should have been. That and there was just too much other stuff in the room that made it too scary the first time to understand first grade". So it sounds like he had a positive experience the second time around, and he's had an easier time relating to the kids in his grade now than he did before. I hope it works out for your son as well.
Dahlia/My six year old.
He's doing ok. I think he is not that worried about repeating anymore. I have finally been successful in convincing him. The big issue was he thought he was going to be with his friends next year, and he wanted the same teacher again. When I explained that even if he went to first grade he wouldn't be with them or have that teacher...he really didn't care anymore. Also he has a friend who will be starting there next year who is also six, they are really close, both immature, and the mom (who is a sub at the school) had her kid repeat pre k this year. He has been diagnosed with an auditory processing disorder (kinda like an auditory dyslexia). I took him to an ear nose and throat doctor. Not that I don't care but...how do I say this? I don't really want to make a big deal out of it I guess. They can't really treat it anyway. They said they would give me some special ear phones that he can use to drown out all the other noise, but he doesn't want to. Other than that he will get speech therapy and hopefully learn to compensate.
Thanks for asking. That is one of the reasons I thought I failed the test. I am going to be an EC-4 special educator, and at the time, I was busily obsessing over him. Every question just reminded me of his situation.
