positive bright shiny wishes

Tue, 10/21/2003 - 10:16 -- Bee

Lynn from did the vast majority of the technical work to get this new system in place, move our domains, get the accounts working, etc. -- and she ended up in the ER over the weekend. Check out her online diary & please send as many positive bright shiny wishes as possible to Lynn! She is an extraordinarily kind and patient and wise and amazing woman. We couldn't run the sites without her & I hope that she knows how important she is to us beyond the tech assistance.

All this typing is rather disastrous for the hands - but my new RSI mittens came in the mail yesterday! I really do love my mittens; anyone else with overly stressed wrists should check em out:

I use the fingerless version. They keep my wrists nice and toasty even when I'm not implementing good ergonomics.

I asked the teenagers swarming around the place to vote and the majority said that the mittens are "not geeky."

Robbie Fulks - "Godfrey"

(from The Bottle Let Me Down)

Godfrey the sickly unemployed amateur children's magician
He's got wonders up his sleeve
If you'll only make-believe
He's got pigeons in his trouser seat
Is that a trick or luncheon meat?

thought of the day

Welcome back. I missed you.

This is indeed the new big plan for - but if any of you are peeking on Saturday night the whole thing is also a really big mess. The process of switching the DNS, getting the scripts moved, pointing images at the right directory, etc., takes a whole lot of detailed attention... I'm working as fast as possible and the crew of amazing people helping are giving all they have... so please accept my thanks for your kind patience.

Mirah - "Cold Cold Water"

I saddled up my pony right
And rode into the ghostly light
It was wide wide open
Wide wide open

I left the only home I knew
I stayed alive and
I found you
Now I take you where the water's deep
And make the air you breathe so sweet

Joan Baez - "Diamonds and Rust"

Now you're telling me
You're not nostalgic
Then give me another word for it
You were so good with words
And at keeping things vague

Cause I need some of the vagueness now
Its all come back too clearly
Yes I loved you dearly
And if you're offering me diamonds and rust
I've already paid
