Should my six-year-old grab my boobs? Is this weird?

Fri, 01/25/2008 - 08:57 -- vkitty

It's been a long time since my baby has cared about my boobs! But he has been increasingly wanting to see me naked and last night even grabbed my boobs! He even wanted to watch me shower the other day.

Isn't he a little young to be interested in girls' body parts? Is he just being curious? At his dad's house, they run around in their underwear all the time, so maybe he's just wondering what the difference between boys and girls are... But does it start this early?

A blog for the purpose of patting myself on the back.

Wed, 01/23/2008 - 07:20 -- vkitty

I was accepted into an honor society at my college! I guess they liked my brain...

The ceremony is tonight, and there will be a dinner, and I'm going to get this groovy little pin so that everywhere I go people will know what a smarty pants I am!

And the best part is that I get to bring my son with me to watch. What a great chance for him to see what good things can happen if you go to school, study hard, and do your homework!

That's all, you can go back to what you were doing now.

Veggie Tales?

Sat, 01/05/2008 - 09:46 -- vkitty

Does anyone have any info on this movie? Is it riddled with Christian propaganda, or am I safe taking my six year old without him being preached to by talking veggies? He really wants to see it, but I don't want to take him if it's too incredibly Christian. Thoughts? Opinions? Anyone with inside info?

Don't watch documentaries about the Universe, it'll only freak you out!

Mon, 12/31/2007 - 10:25 -- vkitty

My son watched a documentary on black holes once and cried. He's been afraid of them ever since.

Similarly, there was something on the History channel last night about the history of the Universe. This interests me, so I watched it. And now I'm freaked out.

The Mp3 player and millions of peaches.

Sat, 12/29/2007 - 07:58 -- vkitty

My partner got a gift card to Best Buy for the holiday. While my little sweetie was with his father, my partner and I went shopping with his gift card and picked my son up an Mp3 player. Have you seen the *shudder* commercials for those Sansa Shaker things? It has it's own little external speaker. He's been dancing around the living room with it.

So anyway, I don't know how many people remember the Pres. of the United States of America song, "Peaches", from the 90's or thereabouts. You know, "millions of peaches, peaches for me..."? He loves that song, so I put it on the mp3 player.

New Year's revelations

Fri, 12/28/2007 - 10:00 -- vkitty

Someone told me once that New Year's resolutions don't work because of the phrasing, the perspective. We say things like "I'm going to quit smoking". Well, when? When are you going to quit? Instead, we should say "I don't smoke". There, that's more real. It's more... in the present... rather than in the future. And I've recently had a bad run luck over the last year and a half that's caused me to sort of forget who I am. I've done a lot of self evaluation of late. I've discovered some things I don't like

1. I'm a slob.

Buddhism and Christmas

Thu, 12/20/2007 - 10:41 -- vkitty

I've been wondering for a while, especially now that my little sweetie is old enough to relate toy commercials with actually getting toys, how I can combat commercialism at Christmastime when I found this cool article. So, for my first blog post, I thought I'd share! Enjoy!

Buddhism and Christmas

by Tony Flanagan

At its best, Christmas is about giving, good will to all men (and women!) and concern for others. At its worst, it's about commercialization, over-indulgence and self-concern. It encapsulates the best and worst of mankind in a few short days.
