Movie recommendations for tonight, please???

Sun, 12/20/2009 - 13:55 -- Birdie

I am having a relaxing evening with a friend, the first child-free once since the semester ended- having vegan pizza and sorbet, need STELLAR MOVIE RECOMMENDATIONS, something we can rent please! As long as it's not horrific in any way- no gory violence, etc- anything goes! Hopefully something more recent that is amazing- but old and amazing is great too. Thanks!

Humorous is good.

Blow my mind, mamas!!!

Springerle, Kuchen, Stollen........

Fri, 12/18/2009 - 21:59 -- Birdie

Anyone know what I'm talking about? The things that I will miss the most about not attending the family gathering, besides my Gramma (and Grampa). I am determined to give springerle a shot now that I'm on break from college- such a process- yet by far my favorite cookie in the world. My "Grossmutter" has beautiful wooden molds from Germany. Wonder if I could carve my own molds some year? Back when she could bake she put real anise seeds in them. It's like the ultimate licoricey citrusy cookie.

The only way I can seem to get my homework done is to bribe a lover to reward me. What the hell? I need to bring this issue to my therapist.

Maybe I'm not motivated to do my design work.
Maybe this is some form of rebellion against the world.
Maybe I am looking for approval in some strange way.
Maybe I want someone besides myself and my teacher to care what I do.

As my son gets older, how will I deal with the homework thing with him?
The best I can do is to give him alone time and to set a good example.

Urgent Sweet Potato Pie Question!

Fri, 11/27/2009 - 17:15 -- Birdie

Ack! I'm drooling for the rest of my sweet potato pie but I left it out all night on the counter, unrefrigerated and it had eggs and evaporated milk in it! Is it safe to eat?!? My brain is saying no but my stomach is saying yes in the worst way. I don't normally risk food poisoning, but? Anyone have any thoughts on yes/no, potential risks? I really don't know much about pie safety.
