Hi Ladies! I know I've been absent - the month of November has pretty much been a wash for me & I know I dropped the ball. But I just picked up my first exam & would really, really appreciate any hipMama vibes that you've been so generous with before. I swear, I really believe those magic vibes have been my secret to law school. This should be the last semester my scholarship hangs in the balance...so if you could just help me out this one last time. You know I'm forever grateful!

4. Went to niece's soccer game, where DS got to play with his "girlfriend" from preschool

I miss you ladies. I don't know what it is; But what it feels like is the simple culmination of the demands of my life finally getting the better of me. Between school, my internship, DS' preschool, diabetes, family, friends, etc..I am just feeling like I am stretched pretty thin. Everything is going well; I just find myself feeling more tired at the prospect of things and saying "no" to different endeavours and activities. Unfortunately it seems like hipMama has been one of those things that I've been letting slide to reserve some energy.

Ugh. I'm in such a shit mood this morning. Just like I expected last night this morning the halls at preschool were filled with people talking about how well Palin did. What a great frucking job! I'm so tired of living amongst idiots. Seriously. If McCain wins this election I won't be able to bear it. Ugh.

I ALWAYS wear my grandmother's wedding band. Sometime yesterday I realized that it wasn't on my finger...I cleaned the entire house, went on DS' field trip to an orchard, and went to school all evening...I have searched the house and cannot find it - please, please, please send vibes that I find it and that I haven't lost it forever - I can't even imagine having to tell my grandmother and mother...ugh. PLEASE!!!

DS' first school trip. We went to the local orchard and learned about apples. He had a good time. He has a girlfriend and he loves his teachers. I'm so pumped that he's doing so well in school. Also, just Monday they tested him and he was low. They gave him the treatment and called me just as I had instructed them to do. They handled it perfectly & it has boosted my confidence that he'll be fine! Here's a little ho:

I told my mom that for our anniversary I wanted DS to do a painting of our family...she said he really rushed through it & wasn't interested, but here's the result. I LOVE it!

DH & I celebrated our fifth annivesary on the 1st. I think he's kind of cute & enjoy remembering the day my grandfather married us in my parents' living room:

Okay, so I admittedly don't know too much about her but from the information I've been able to research she is not very experienced. The obvious aspect of her selection is that she is a woman.

I just want to get out my response to that one aspect.

#1 - Her selection is an obvious and distasteful attempt to gain women voters (some who had been in support of Hillary). And that says only that McCain and the Republican party views women as fungible and that their individual characteristics and abilities are unimportant and that one woman is as good as another.

This afternoon I was sitting at a stop light this afternoon behind a truck. His bumper stickers read “No matter how hard they try this flag will never die” with a confederate flag on it and “If the north is so great why don’t you go back?” As I was reading them I became conscious of the song I was singing along to, “He was my Brother” by Simon and Garfunkel. (For those of you unfamiliar with it I’ve included the lyrics below.) My car has the following bumper sticker on it

Today's my first day back. I'm already behind on my reading! I did get the position at the family court (thanks for remembering christy!) and I'm looking forward to it. I think that it'll be a good experience. I'm thrilled that I will have Thursdays and Fridays completely free to be home with DS. (Though he'll have his first day of preschool in a few weeks.) I'll likely be around more since I'll be in front of my computer for hours a day.
