Hey Portland and New Jersey mamas - this Sunday is WonderWoman Day! It's a great event to raise awareness during domestic violence awareness month and this year in Portland, Adam Hughes will be there. Kid-friendly! http://www.wonderwomanmuseum.com/WWDay3/WWDay3.html
WONDER WOMAN DAY III - New Jersey
Sunday, October 26, 2008 -- 12 am - 5 pm -- FREE
He was incredible! So so smart and passionate about ending racism.
he said a lot of stuff about Obama and the presidential race. One of his first points was that if O wins, we should not kid ourselves that his victory says _anything_ about the larger systemic reality of race and racism in America and that it is highly dangerous to speak of his potential victory (or even getting this far) as a signal of the end of racism in America. pretty radical, huh? I wish I was smart enough to articulate the argument for you all. I did record part of the talk so maybe I can upload it.
I loved the discussion about the VP debate but I totally missed it when I was watching.
Anyone care to join in? I'm interested in the town hall format tonight. They say McCain is good at these things and that Obama prefers big crowds, but I don't know. Old guy creeps me out and Barack seems like someone I could have a solid discussion with.
My agency has a beautiful PSA! Check it out:
if you don't know, I raise money for the Portland Women's Crisis Line www.pwcl.org
When I was hired, the event was held in a tiny winery, and on Friday just 4 years later: The Crystal Ballroom!
If you are in Portland and want to come, PM me and I'll give you my direct line at work.
I'm watching the DNC convention on PBS right now.
Just waiting to hear from the black woman. I think I like Michelle Obama better than Barack.
But after she speaks, mamas....watch this site for the mess that will follow: www.michelleobamawatch.com
I am so glad she is there, though. I am so happy that my girl can look up to her, even if they don't win - maude, god and buddha help us. thanks, Michelle.
what the fuck?
